strategise / growth mindset in times of change

TLDR
For teams adapting to major change or going through uncertainty. Helps you replace defensiveness with curiosity using growth mindset principles to stay aligned, adaptive and forward-looking through disruption.

Change comes in many forms: merger, cuts, reorganisation or rapid growth. Each brings disruption, and with it the risk of teams falling into fixed patterns: resisting new approaches, avoiding risk or assuming what worked before will work again.

This programme creates the space for teams to understand what sits behind those reactions, talk openly about the pressures and assumptions shaping their response to change, and build a more confident, curious way of thinking together.

It works particularly well where people have lived experience of past initiatives that didn’t land, where long-serving colleagues see risks others may miss, or where strategy has been introduced rather than shaped by the team itself.

Through practical tools and guided discussion, the session helps the team explore change with more openness, surface concerns early, draw on collective experience and identify practical next steps they can test immediately.

    • To embed growth mindset principles into team strategy and collaboration: seeing effort, feedback and setbacks as pathways to improvement.

    • To explore what drives protective or resistant behaviours during change, and how to work with these constructively.

    • To build shared clarity about what the change means for the team and what they need to feel confident adapting.

    • To replace fixed-mindset behaviours (protecting turf, fearing mistakes) with growth-driven behaviours (curiosity, experimentation, constructive challenge).

    • To identify practical next steps the team can apply straight away and refine through iteration.

    • A team that approaches change with curiosity rather than defensiveness

    • Greater willingness to test ideas, learn from results and refine quickly

    • Improved alignment around strategy, with clarity on how everyone contributes

    • A culture where feedback is welcomed and effort is valued as part of progress

    • Earlier surfacing of concerns, risks and insights that might otherwise block progress.

    • Clear, grounded commitments the team feels ready to act on.

  • Discovery

Brief insight-gathering to understand your team’s goals, pressures and ways of working.

This may include short conversations with key stakeholders or a questionnaire.

    Workshop

A full-day or half-day session, delivered in person or virtually.

The session is practical and conversational, focused entirely on your team’s live challenges and the thinking patterns shaping how they respond to change.

    Optional extras

    GC Index Team Profile

A data-led diagnostic that can be added if you want deeper insight into how your team delivers impact and where it may need to stretch or adapt during change.

    Monthly Drop-Ins

Short virtual sessions where the team works on live challenges and deliberately practises the behaviours introduced in the workshop - testing ideas, reflecting on what’s working, and iterating together over time.

    Follow-up Session

A structured session virtual held a few months after the workshop, giving the team space to review progress, reflect on what they’ve learned and reset priorities using the same growth-driven approach. It helps reconnect the team to the behaviours and practices introduced in the workshop and ensures momentum is carried forward.
