FAQs

Find out answers to common questions about Teamshaper’s bespoke team training programmes for public sector organisations. This is how we design and deliver CPD-accredited applied learning, measure impact, meet Procurement Act 2023 and framework compliance, and make training practical, inclusive and cost-effective for teams across the UK and beyond.

  • We’re a public sector team training specialist. We design and deliver bespoke team training programmes that help public sector teams work better together and achieve stronger results. Each programme is built around your team’s real projects and challenges, using a mix of delivery formats such as face-to-face or virtual sessions, coaching, self-paced learning and follow-up workshops.

All programmes are shaped around Teamshaper’s seven CPD-accredited modules: Communicate, Present, Lead, Strategise, Deliver, Compose and Innovate, creating practical high-impact learning experiences tailored to your goals.

  • Our team training programmes are commissioned by organisations, so your employer funds the training. While we occasionally receive enquiries from individuals, Teamshaper focuses on delivering bespoke programmes for teams within organisations, particularly across the UK public sector.

  • We use a transparent pricing structure based on the time spent developing and delivering your programme. Our services are charged at a clear day rate, with any additional costs such as travel or printing billed at cost.

Because Teamshaper operates as a collective of specialist trainers and coaches, not a large agency, our model is lean and cost-effective, giving you high-calibre expertise and full transparency without unnecessary overheads.

  • All early-stage services, including enquiries, fact-finding sessions and consultation calls, are free of charge. You only commit once you approve a structured bespoke training proposal outlining the programme design, delivery format and costs.

  • Development costs are invoiced once the programme is signed off and the order form agreed, with payment due within 30 days of the invoice date. At this stage, 50% of the delivery cost is also invoiced.

The remaining balance, along with any agreed expenses, is invoiced after each session and payable within 30 days.

  • For face-to-face delivery, we usually run sessions at your offices or another client-provided venue. If you prefer virtual delivery, we’re fully set up to deliver through Microsoft Teams or Zoom.

All coaching sessions take place online, and if you need help sourcing a venue, we can arrange this as part of your programme setup.

  • We work with teams as teams, not as groups of individuals. Working on team dynamics is an integral part of every programme, whatever the topic, so it’s important that the full team takes part together.

As a guide, we usually cap group sizes at around 20 participants to maintain interaction and quality of facilitation. When working with smaller teams, we can often deliver the same programme in less time, making it more cost-effective on a per-participant basis.

  • Yes. Sessions can be rescheduled or cancelled, but cancellation or rescheduling fees may apply if changes are made within a set lead time. Full details are outlined in our terms and conditions.

  • Yes. Teamshaper is a named supplier on the Crown Commercial Service Learning & Training DPS (RM6219), Communications Marketplace (RM6124) and an approved supplier on the YPO Training Solutions DPS (000999).

These frameworks allow public sector organisations to procure our services through compliant, pre-approved routes, reducing procurement time, administrative effort and risk.

Our inclusion on both frameworks reflects our commitment to quality, transparency and public sector standards. For full details, see our Public Sector page.

  • We start by clarifying your objectives so every programme is designed to deliver clear measurable impact. Most programmes include multiple touchpoints such as coaching or follow-up sessions, to embed learning and track progress over time.

We use a mix of qualitative feedback, team progress reviews and post-programme impact reports to evidence outcomes and support continuous improvement.

  • We can take on as much or as little of the logistical management as you need, including internal promotion, participant registration and pre- and post-course communication.

We recommend involving all relevant stakeholders in our initial consultation to ensure alignment, ownership and buy-in from the start.

  • We recommend scheduling dates that allow the whole team to attend, as our programmes are designed as shared team experiences, not individual courses.

If someone misses a session, we can share supporting materials, but live sessions cannot be replaced with self-study. Where several team members are unable to attend, we may suggest arranging an additional session to keep the team aligned.

We can also be flexible with delivery formats. Our Teamshaper in Minutes model offers 25-minute micro-learning sessions held once a week at the same day and time. This creates a rhythm that helps teams practise between sessions, make quick tweaks, and commit to development without losing substantial work time.

  • We can accommodate hybrid delivery, but we strongly recommend choosing either fully face-to-face or fully virtual formats. Hybrid sessions often weaken the team dynamic and can make it harder for virtual participants to engage fully, so a single consistent format usually delivers the best experience for everyone.

  • Yes. We don’t just adapt, our programmes are built with inclusivity in mind from the start. Accessibility is designed into every element of delivery, from materials to facilitation.

We ask that you notify us of any specific requirements in writing at least 30 days before the relevant delivery date, so we can make any necessary adjustments. Our website meets WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards for digital accessibility.

  • Yes. Your requirements shape the programme, not the other way around. If needed, we can develop new modules or bring in additional specialist trainers from our wider network to ensure your team gets the most relevant and effective solution.

  • Yes. We regularly work with international clients and teams, particularly across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. All programmes are delivered in English and charged in GBP, and our trainers have extensive experience supporting organisations across different countries and contexts.

  • Yes. All Teamshaper modules are CPD-accredited, and every hour of training counts as one CPD point. We can provide individual PDF certificates for participants on request.

  • Each programme is unique, but most live modules include a digital presentation shared with participants after the session. Our training is experience-focused, emphasising team interaction and collaboration over written materials.

  • Most modules are delivered as one-day sessions (9:30 AM–4:30 PM, including a one-hour lunch break). Some can be adapted into half-day formats, and coaching sessions typically last 55 minutes.

We’re flexible with scheduling and can adjust timings to fit your team’s working patterns and operational needs.

  • We haven’t done so yet, but we can source translation services if required.

  • As an accredited GC Partner, we use the GC Index within some of our programmes as a team profiling tool, to understand how individuals naturally contribute to impact. It gives us a clear view of your team’s dynamics, strengths and gaps, helping us design a programme that fits how your team actually works.

These insights shape the programme from the outset, making it more targeted, relevant and effective.

  • We don’t just deliver training, we reshape how teams work together. Every programme is built around real team challenges, creating lasting change rather than a burst of motivation.

Teamshaper is a collective of senior trainers and coaches, not a loose network. When you work with us, our trainers share insight and context internally, so even if different modules are led by different specialists, each builds on what’s already been achieved. You don’t start from scratch every time - your development journey continues and deepens with each module.

Because we work with many public sector organisations, we also act as a channel for cross-pollination and best practice. We bring ideas, tools and approaches that have worked elsewhere, helping teams learn from one another across departments, sectors and regions.

We use The GC Index to understand how each team contributes and where its collective energy lies, helping us design programmes that fit how your people actually work.

As a lean collective, you get top-level expertise and a personal responsive service but without corporate overheads, making our programmes high-impact and cost-effective. At the same time, you benefit from the delivery infrastructure, assurance and compliance of a larger provider. We’re named on the CCS Learning & Training DPS (RM6219) and approved on the YPO Training Solutions DPS (000999), meaning we’ve already passed the strictest public sector quality and compliance checks.

Between us, we’ve supported hundreds of public sector teams and have a genuine passion for the work.

And to top it all up, we’re very nice people, and lovely to work with!
