This programme is for intact leadership teams in public sector organisations who want to strengthen their leadership skills without stepping away from their operational responsibilities for long stretches.

Over nine weeks, your team takes part in a series of short, focused live virtual sessions that fit around the working week. Each session lasts 25 minutes and is followed by a small, practical task the team applies immediately in their real work. The learning builds week by week into a shared set of leadership habits and agreed standards the whole team commits to.

The trainer works with your team throughout the journey: preparing each session to fit your context, observing progress, and adapting content so every week moves you closer to your leadership goals.

lead / leading in minutes: micro-learning for public sector leadership teams

    • Build confidence in core leadership skills through short, high-impact learning bursts.

    • Apply clear, repeatable structures for conversations, delegation, feedback and performance management in day-to-day work.

    • Develop consistent leadership habits and shared standards across the whole team.

    • Strengthen understanding of each leader’s style and contribution within the team.

    • Produce a one-page “Leadership Standards” document the team uses beyond the programme.

    • Minimal disruption – only 25 minutes of live training per week.

    • Skills applied immediately to real work, not left until “after the course”.

    • The whole team moves forward together, building shared language and behaviours.

    • Repetition and reinforcement over eight weeks create lasting habits.

    • Ongoing trainer support across the full programme, not just in live delivery.

  • Nine-week programme, combining live virtual sessions and workplace application:

    • Pre-programme – planning call to identify goals and priorities.

    • Week 1 – Kick-off (60 minutes) – introduction to the programme, agreement of objectives, and issue of tools (leader standards template, meeting scripts, feedback prompts).

    • Weeks 2–9 – Weekly live sessions (25 minutes each) – same time each week, attended by the whole team, covering:

      • Setting clear expectations in under three minutes

      • Delegating so work is done right first time

      • Running focused 1:1s in 10 minutes

      • Giving constructive feedback in two minutes

      • Building trust in teams you can’t see every day

      • Managing performance with low visibility

      • Leading small changes clearly and simply

      • Staying aligned with peers and senior leaders

    • In-week action – after each live session, the team applies one small leadership habit in their real work before the next meeting.

    • Final session (45 minutes) – review learning, finalise the team’s one-page leadership standards, and agree how to keep the habits alive.

Sessions run at the start or end of the working day to minimise disruption, always on the same day and at the same time each week to create a consistent rhythm and habit.

1-to-1 coaching sessions with some or all team members are an optional add-on.
